Tune iN, Vibe UP:
Music for Health and iNclusion in schools
Tune In, Vibe Up is a program to promote the healthy use of music for mental health and wellbeing in schools.
Our program is specifically designed for high schools and facilitates accessible, digital and inclusive ‘music for health’ modules for students of all abilities. The program aims to strengthen inclusive music education and youth mental health in high schools.
❋ What Students told us...
We ran a pilot of the program at a Northern Beaches high school. Students attending the workshops on music for mental health and wellbeing told us it helped. Here’s an overview of what they said.
❋ What teachers told us...
Connection sits at the heart of this program. Music enables students of all abilities, to create shared spaces for expression, creativity, and connection. This program created space for that and teachers share the impact of the program & why it matters.
❋ Why music for health matters...
It’s all about music and the brain. We all know it works, right?!. But only when you really want it to. Asking the right questions and finding the right music-based tools to support students is important. We support the use of music for health in this program.
❋ What the music created sounds like...
We really wanted a celebratory outcome in this pilot program, so we took a little time to record the songs. They were so good and the students, so skilled. With only a little guidance from us, students created these songs. The most important thing… connection and collaboration. All emerging from true inclusive music-making.
